Amongst the increasing cases, a case of yellow fungus infection has also been reported in black mold Delhi NCR and Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad, which is now considered more dangerous than black fungus and white fungus.
ENT specialist Dr BP Tyagi said that a person recovered from COVID-19 in Ghaziabad has been diagnosed with three types of fungal infections – black, white and yellow, which were detected through endoscopy.
Symptoms of yellow fungus:
Yellow fungus is a fatal disease because it starts internally and due to which, it is important that you seek medical treatment as soon as you see any of the following symptoms:
- Reduced appetite and weight loss
- Lethargy or lethargy
- In severe cases, pus formation and leakage and wound healing gradually.
- Malnutrition and organ failure
- Eyes closed due to final necrosis
Major causes of yellow fungus
Poor hygiene practice is the main cause of yellow fungal infection. It is necessary to clean the enclosure around your house regularly and keep it as clean as possible. To reduce the growth of bacteria and fungus, remove old foods and faeces as soon as possible.
Too much moisture indoors can promote the growth of bacteria and fungus. So maintaining the right level of humidity is also important. For this, you should measure the level of humidity at all times and the correct level of humidity should be from 30% to 40%. It is easier to handle low humidity than to have an excessive amount of moisture.
So yellow fungi can range from high humidity to old food. However, the primary cause is poor hygiene practice. By getting rid of old foods, proper disposal of faeces can prevent bacteria and fungus from growing. Humidity in a closed space (home or office) should not exceed 30–40%.
Treatment of yellow fungus:
If caught at the right time, the yellow fungus is treatable, as is the case with a person who has been tested for yellow fungal infection in Ghaziabad. Amphotericin B injection, which is a broad-spectrum antifungal drug, is beneficial in the treatment of yellow fungi.
