England’s Ecclestone, ranked number one in the International Cricket Council (ICC) rankings, played a dreamy four for nine in 3.1 overs. She was well supported by experienced Jhulan Goswami (2 for 13) and Rajeshwari Gaikwad (2 for 13) as the Trailblazers bundled out the batting decision Velocity for just 47 runs in 15.1 overs.

After this, the Trailblazers achieved the small target of 48 runs by losing one wicket in 7.5 overs. Diandra Dautin and Richa Ghosh remained unbeaten, scoring 29 and 13 respectively.

At the end of the powerplay, the Trailblazers scored 28 for one wicket. But ended the match brilliantly with Richa’s six.

Earlier, the performance of the Velocity batsmen was disappointing, with Ecclestone, who was the ‘Player of the Match’. Her, spin partner, Rajeshwari Gaikwad wreaked havoc. This reduced Velocity’s inning in 15.1 overs. Veteran Indian fast bowler Jhulan Goswami dismissed the top-order batsmen.

Only three batsmen from Velocity could reach double-digit scores, with Shefali Verma scoring 13 as the top scorer. Velocity captain, Mithali Raj’s decision to bat first was not in favour of the team as half the team had reached the dressing room within just 22 runs in the powerplay. Shefali was trying to play a big inning, first hit a four and a six, but Goswami dismissed the youngster.
