WhatsApp working toward allowing users to set up avatar profile photos

Technology

According to reports, WhatsApp is developing a feature that will let users customise their “Avatar” profile pictures. An animated avatar will be used by users to answer video calls, according to a previous story about the Meta-owned instant messaging service.

According to WABeta, WhatsApp is putting together a feature called Avatar profile photos that will let users set a personalised avatar as their display image. The WhatsApp information portal was able to get a snapshot that demonstrates how users would be able to customise and select an avatar, choose a backdrop colour, and establish an avatar as a profile photo. There is currently no information available on the feature’s release date. Additionally, because it is still in the early stages of development, it could be some time before it is made available to the general public.

WhatsApp disclosed some new privacy features earlier this month, and they are now being made available to all users. You may now conceal your online status, leave WhatsApp groups discreetly without alerting other members, and prevent screenshots from being taken of certain conversations, among other new features.

Users will apparently be able to control who may see their Online status after the update—all users, only contacts, or nobody. similar to how read receipts and other conversation features’ visibility may be adjusted. Additionally, WhatsApp users will have the option of discreetly leaving any group they are a part of without informing the other group members. Keep in mind that group administrators will still be informed of their departure.
