A few months ago, WhatsApp announced that the popular messaging app will stop working in Windows Phone by the end of this year. Now Whatsapp has given a big jolt to some users. Whatsapp has brought bad news for some Android and iPhone users. According to the updated FAQ of the Whatsapp (Frequently Asked Questions), the Messaging app will not work on some Android and iPhone users’ phones after February 1, 2020.

Whatsapp’s FAQ explicitly states that all Android phones running on Android 2.3.7 operating system and all iPhones running on iOS 7 will not support Whatsapp on February 1, 2020. That is, Whatsapp will stop working on Android smartphones and iPhone on these operating systems. The updated FAQ states that the iPhone users running Android 2.3.7 version and the iPhone 7 running on iOS 7 will not be able to create new accounts or re-verify the existing accounts after February 1, 2020.
Facebook’s Proprietary Messaging Platform has said that the decision to shut down the Whatsapp side on these Android phones and iPhone will not affect the user too much. Whatsapp has said that users who use the old Whatsapp app and iPhones will be affected by this decision. Whatsapp is asking its users to use phones running Android 4.0.3 or later on the software version, so that they do not have to face any kind of interruption in the service.
Right now, for iPhone users, WhatsApp says that if you use a smartphone running iOS8 or above, there will be no problem with the service. Whatsapp has asked users to use the phone that runs on Kai OS 2.5.1+ in their latest FAQ. Whatsapp said a few months ago that after December 31, 2019, Windows Phone users will not be able to use Whatsapp app on their phones.
