WhatsApp might allow users to see Status updates straight from the chat list
According to reports, WhatsApp is working on a feature that would allow users to check status updates from within the conversation list. Users’ Instagram Stories may be seen from the direct message list similarly. According to WABetaInfo, the instant messaging and phone service is working on the functionality, which will be published at a later date.
When a user is looking for conversations and messages, screenshots obtained by WABetaInfo illustrate how a status update made by contact may be displayed immediately within the chats list. The dialogue begins when the user clicks on the chat cell. However, if the user clicks on the profile image (which is surrounded by green “status rings”), the user’s status update appears instead.
Users will no longer need to navigate to the “Status” page to see other people’s status updates after this upgrade is implemented. This might encourage more people to check their WhatsApp status updates.
Keep in mind that this screenshot is from a future version of WhatsApp Desktop. However, the same capability will most likely be accessible in a future WhatsApp beta version for Android and iOS. However, because it is still under development, the release date for such a feature is uncertain.
This new version arrives just after WhatsApp released a new upgrade that allows users to conceal their profile picture, status updates, and other information from others. The upgrade, which is rolling out to all devices, provides consumers fine-grained control over who sees what data.
