Varun Dhawan remembers ‘kind-hearted’ Sidharth Shukla
As the movie celebrated eight years since its debut, actor Varun Dhawan recalled his Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania co-star Sidharth Shukla. On Monday, Varun shared a flashback image of himself, Sidharth, and starlet Alia Bhatt posing for a picture on Twitter. Another ancient photograph shows Varun and Sidharth Shukla grinning while seated at a table. After having a heart attack, Sidharth passed away last year.
Varun Dhawan shared the post with the caption, “8 years of #humptysharmakidhulania a very special film but today I remember it for the time I got to spend with sid on the film. He was kind-hearted, protective and always passionate about work and friends.”
Alia Bhatt added red heart emoticons to the image when she reposted it on her Instagram Stories.
Shashank Khaitan, the director of Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, also published a message on Instagram. He shared a movie poster and wrote, “8 years of #hskd … At times it feels like yesterday and at times another lifetime… So much has happened in just 8 years … Varun got Married. Karan had babies. I had a baby. Alia got married and is about to have a baby. Many of my HOD’s who were kids then, now have babies … Okay enough of baby talk. Raj and Bhanu went on to become film Directors. We battled through Covid. Siddharth Shukla left us for a better place.”
The movie, which Shashank directed, earned more than 120 crore at the box office. Sidharth, who had previously appeared in a number of TV series, made his Bollywood debut with this film, which was also produced by Karan Johar.
Alongside Kriti Sanon, Varun will next be seen in the horror-comedy Bhediya, which is set for release on November 25, 2022. Bawaal is also in front of Janhvi Kapoor for him. Varun most recently appeared in JugJugg Jeeyo with Neetu Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, and Kiara Advani.
