North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un held a military meeting to discuss new policies aimed at strengthening the country’s nuclear capability. The meeting has been held at a time when talks with the United States on nuclear disarmament have gone into cold storage.
Government agency KCNA reported on Sunday that the ruling Central Workers Party’s powerful Central Military Commission met and Kim appeared in public for the first time three weeks later. In the last two months, he has come out very rarely in view of Coronavirus infection. Strict restrictions have been imposed in North Korea for the prevention of coronavirus. However, it claims that not a single case has been reported here so far.
According to KCNA, measures to strengthen security forces were discussed during the meeting. Along with this, it was discussed how to respond to the small and big challenges being created by the opposing countries. The agency said that during the meeting there was also talk of adopting important measures to increase the capability to attack with artillery guns.
It is noteworthy that mediation was conducted to stop North Korea’s nuclear and missile program under the leadership of the US and little progress has been made in this regard since the end of last year. The reason is a worldwide epidemic. At the same time, Kim’s talks with US President Donald Trump have also been in considerable discussion. However, the negotiations held in Hanoi last year have not yielded any concrete results and are considered to be failed negotiations in away.
