Thor: Love and Thunder, the highly anticipated superhero film starring Chris Hemsworth, will be released in Indian theatres on July 7. On Friday, Marvel India announced on its social media account that the film will be released in India on July 7, rather than July 8.

The studio’s Instagram page announced, “Get ready for the ultimate ‘THORSDAY’! Marvel Studios’ #ThorLoveAndThunder arrives in cinemas in India a day before, on the 7th of July.”

Hemsworth reprises his role as the eponymous superhero in Thor: Love and Thunder, a character he previously performed in three solos and four Avengers movies.

Taika Waititi, who directed the 2017 smash Thor: Ragnarok, has directed the upcoming instalment. Waititi also returns as Korg, a Kronan gladiator who befriends Thor in Thor: Ragnarok.

Natalie Portman reprises her role as Jane Foster from Thor (2011) and Thor: The Dark World (2013). Thor: Love and Thunder will also include Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Jaimie Alexander as Sif, and Russell Crowe as Zeus.

The storyline is set after the events of Avengers: Endgame (2019), as Thor strives to find inner peace, but must return to battle and join Valkyrie, Korg, and Jane Foster, who has transformed into the Mighty Thor, to stop Gorr the God Butcher (played by Christian Bale) from annihilating all gods.

Marvel Studios, headed by Kevin Feige, is producing the film. It will be released in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam in India.
