Telegram just surpassed 700 million monthly active users and is now rolling out a premium service with a slew of new features. The service now includes some new and improved features. “Today we’re launching Telegram Premium – a subscription that lets you support Telegram’s continued development and gives you access to exclusive additional features,” Telegram wrote in a blog post. Telegram creator Pavel Durov originally revealed the service in a message on his private Telegram channel.
Telegram Premium is now available on the Apple App Store with version 8.8 of the app. Many additional features will be available to Telegram Premium members, including faster downloads, a bigger file sharing limit, up to four accounts in one app, and much more. Check out all of the new features available to Telegram Premium members.
Telegram Premium customers will get access to additional benefits such as increased restrictions, 4GB file uploads, quicker downloads, special stickers and reactions, enhanced conversation management, and more. Paid customers will also be able to follow up to 1,000 channels and establish up to 20 chat folders, each of which may hold up to 200 chats.
Some of the functionality given by Telegram Paid will be available to non-premium users as well as premium members. The option to download extra-large documents and view stickers supplied by premium users will be available to non-paid subscribers as well. Non-paid users will be able to tap to boost the counts on premium reactions as well.
In terms of cost, Telegram has not divulged the Telegram premium pricing in its blog post. However, according to TechCrunch, the service might cost anywhere between $5 and $6 (about Rs. 390 and Rs. 468 approximately).
