When news broke recently that Raj Anadkat was leaving Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, fans were shocked. In the comedy series, the actor portrays Tappu, Jethalal’s son. The young actor has now spoken out about the development and revealed that he is a significant component of the programme after weeks of rumours.

Raj Anadkat was recently asked by Pinkvilla if he had split from Taarak Mehta. He said, “My fans, my audience, my well-wishers, they all know that I am very good in creating suspense. I am an expert in creating suspense. “When the time is right, everyone will get to know.”

In 2017, Bhavya Gandhi was succeeded as Tappu by Raj Anadkat. There have been rumours about him leaving the show and having fights with co-stars in the past couple of years. The actor said, “No, those stories don’t bother me aur sabr ka phal meetha hota hai (patience always borne sweet results)” when the reporter questioned if the speculative news reports about him worried him.

Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, which debuted in 2008, has celebrated its 14th anniversary. Producer Asit Kumarr Modi admitted in a recent interview that it was challenging to get the show on the air since no one understood the premise. Almost all stations rejected him for six years before he finally signed a deal with SAB TV in 2008. His struggles didn’t end there, either, as the show’s early listeners also had trouble connecting.

“Given they were used to watching kitchen dramas, they could not understand how this show had no heroine or vamp. There was also no saasu maa. Instead of a haveli, the set was a society, and the storyline had no major drama plots. They were in a state of disbelief,” he said. The longest-running tv show in existence today, TMKOC has admirers all around the world.
