While on one side there are difficulties in growing crops in many places, China has achieved success in spraying cotton on the moon. Cotton seeds sprouted on the rover sent to the moon on behalf of China. This is the first time, when a plant is growing on the moon beyond the human world. Scientists have informed this on Tuesday. China is also hoping to grow potatoes here.
According to a series of photographs released from Chongqing University’s Advanced Technology Research Institute, this seed of this month of Chang E-4, on landing on the Moon, has developed from the jelly structure within a canister.
This is the first time
Professor Xie Gengxin, who led the design of the experiment, said, “This is the first time when humans have experimented with the development of plants in biology on the surface of the moon.” Increasing China’s ambition to become a powerhouse in space, Chang E-4 landed in the farthest part of the Moon on January 3 and became the world’s first spacecraft to reach the never-seen part of the natural satellite.
Do not shoot in other plants
Scientists at Chongqing University sent a bucket carton of 18 centimeters of air, water and soil. Within this, cotton seeds, potatoes and mustard seeds were sent along with seeds of a single plant along with fruit fly eggs and East. The University said that the photographs sent from the space station showed that cotton shoots are growing well, but till now the seeds of other plants are not germinated.
