Sputnik V prices in Coronavirus made in Russia have been revealed. The drugmaker Dr Reddy’s Lab issued a statement saying that a dose of Sputnik V vaccine, imported from Russia,. It would currently cost Rs 948, adding 5 per cent GST, to Rs 995.40 per dose. However, the company also said that when its production starts in the country, the price of the vaccine may be reduced. “The price is likely to come down when the local supply starts,” he said.
According to news agency PTI, the pharma company said on Friday that the first dose of the vaccine was given in Hyderabad as part of the limited pilot launch of Sputnik V. This first dose has been given to Deepak Sapra, Global Head of Custom Pharma Services of Dr. Reddy’s Lab. Sputnik V has given this information by tweeting.
What company said about the Sputnik V vaccine
The company said, “The first consignment of the imported dose of Sputnik V vaccine arrived in India on 1 May. It received regulatory clearance from the Central Pharmaceutical Laboratory, Kasauli on 13 May 2021”. In April, the Emergency Use of the vaccine was approved by the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI). On Thursday, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) announced that the vaccine will be available in markets across the country from early next week.
Announcing this at a press conference, Dr VK Paul, a member of the NITI Commission, said, “Sputnik vaccine has arrived in India. I am happy to say that we hope that it will be available in the market next week”. We expect limited supply sales from Russia to begin next week.”. The Sputnik V vaccine was first approved in Russia on August 11, 2020. It is widely considered to be the first vaccine against the Covid-19 pandemic. According to the Lancet Medical Journal, it is up to 91.6% effective against the virus.
