Once in the mythological period, the Dev-Asura struggle lasted for a long time. At that time, the lord and commander of the Asuras were Mahishasura. Mahishasura defeated the gods of Indra and captured the throne of heaven. He thus became the king of heaven. Seeing the power of Mahishasura growing, the gods got upset and went to Brahma, Vishnu, Mahesh to solve this problem.

The defeated gods told Trideva that Mahishasura had taken away all the rights from Indra, Chandra, Surya, Vayu and all other deities and made him hostage to heaven itself. The gods said that after being expelled from heaven, they are now touring the earth. Hearing the things of the Gods, Tridev got very angry due to this, immense energy was created from the face of the three and this energy started spreading in ten directions. At the same time, there was the incarnation of a goddess.

Goddess Shankar was given the Trishul and Srihari by Chakra. Other gods also provided divine weapons to the goddess. Indra gave Goddess Vajra and an hour to Goddess Chandraghanta. Surya provided his lion and sword and gave the lion along for the ride. In this way, Goddess Chandraghanta became fully prepared for the battle with Mahishasura. Mahishasura understood that the end of the Goddess was huge and insurmountable. Despite this, Mahishasura ordered Davanadal to attack.
The Goddess killed the Daavan Dal in no time with her divine weapons. In this way, heaven was freed from the wicked.
