Sameer Khakhar of Nukkad fame died due to multiple organ failure

Legendary actor Sameer Khakhar, best known for his roles in TV series like Nukkad, passed away on Wednesday, according to his brother Ganesh Khakhar. Multiple organ failure caused Sameer, who appeared in Salman Khan’s movie Jai Ho, to pass away. According to a source, Sameer also had urinary and respiratory problems. He was 71.

According to his younger brother Ganesh Khakhar, veteran actor Sameer Khakhar, best known for his work in TV shows like Circus and Nukkad, passed suddenly on Wednesday at the age of 71 from multiple organ failure.

Ganesh Khakhar said, “He was suffering from respiratory issues, then he went to sleep and went unconscious. We called the doctor and he suggested that we admit him in the hospital. His heart was not working properly and had urinary issues too. He was kept on ventilator, gradually he collapsed at 4:30 am this morning.”

Sameer Khakhar passed away at the MM Hospital in Borivali, Bombay, where he had been admitted. According to reports, Sameer’s funeral would take place at Babhai Naka Crematorium in Borivali on Wednesday morning.

Both the film and television industries used Sameer Khakhar. On programmes like Nukkad, Manorajan, Circus, Naya Nukkad, Shrimaan Shrimati, and Adaalat, he could be seen. His most recent appearance was in Sanjivani alongside Surbhi Chandna and Namit Khanna. He was well-known in Gujarati theatre as well.

Sameer Khakhar, who is well known for his portrayal as Khopdi in the movie Nukkad, stated in a 2021 interview that he was searching for excellent jobs because he claimed they had stopped coming his way.
