Russian President Vladimir Putin has not been given true information about the war against Ukraine: the US

According to the White House, Russian President Vladimir Putin is in the dark about the ground realities of the continuing Russia-Ukraine war, particularly how Russia has fared in the battle, since Putin’s staff are too terrified to tell him the truth, citing certain unclassified US information. According to a senior US source, the data also point to “chronic conflict” between Putin and his defence ministry.

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, whose unexpected absence sparked conjecture, is also no longer aligned with Putin, according to US research. Ukraine said Shoigu had a heart attack following a heated argument with Putin, which the Kremlin denied.

“We believe (Russian President Vladimir Putin) is being misinformed by his advisors about how poorly the Russian military is performing and how sanctions are crippling the Russian economy, because, once again, the senior advisors are too afraid to tell him the truth,” White House communications director Kate Bedingfield said, as quoted by news agency AFP.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken discussed the US intelligence assessment, claiming that Putin’s aides have always provided him with inaccurate information. “With regard to President Putin, look, what I can tell you is this, and I said this before, one of the Achilles’ heel of autocracies is that you don’t have people in those systems who speak truth to power or who have the ability to speak truth to power. And I think that is something that we’re seeing in Russia,” Blinken remarked.

According to officials, Putin is facing isolation in the Kremlin for a variety of reasons. During the epidemic, Putin kept a tight social distance from his authorities, which resulted in his senior officials feeling chilly toward him. Putin also publicly chastises his officials who disagree with him, pushing his top aides to generally offer half-truths or facts that will only make him feel better.

As Russia repositions itself in the ongoing conflict, moving from Kyiv, US intelligence reports that Putin is really unaware of the massive losses suffered by his troops in the previous month. He is apparently unaware that the Russian military has been utilising conscripts in Ukraine, demonstrating a “clear breakdown in the transfer of correct information.”
