The film RRR, which was directed by SS Rajamouli, has won numerous international accolades in the past. The movie has now received the Hollywood Critics Association’s Spotlight Award (HCA). “The cast and crew of #RRR will be the recipient of this year’s HCA Spotlight Award. #HCAFilmAwards #RRRMovie,” the HCA announced on Twitter on Monday night. On February 24, 2023, in Los Angeles, at the 6th HCA Film Awards, the cast and crew of RRR will receive the prize. On the same night, Rian Johnson, a director, and actor Angela Bassett will also receive awards.
In response to the announcement, RRR’s official Twitter account stated, “We RRR elated… (star eyes emoji). The cast and crew of #RRRMovie bags the prestigious HCA Spotlight Winner Award! We’d like to thank the @HCAcritics jury for recognising #RRRMovie!” Reacting to the post, Vindu Dara Singh commented, “Well deserved.” A fan said, “Remarkable achievement!! Congratulations.”
The movie earned Best International Picture at the 2022 Atlanta Film Critics Circle Awards earlier this week. Additionally, SS Rajamouli won the best director prize from the New York Film Critics Circle. On December 2, the NYFCC made the winners public via its social media channels.
The news was also posted on RRR’s Twitter account, “@SSRajamouli wins the prestigious New York Film Critics Circle Award for the Best Director! @NYFCC Words can’t do justice to describe how happy and proud we are… Our heartfelt thanks to the jury for recognising #RRRMovie.”
On Twitter, actor Jr. NTR sent his congratulations to Rajamouli and remarked that his “journey to worldwide glory” had begun with his NYFCC victory. It’s time for the world to learn what I already knew about you, he said.
RRR features Ram Charan and Jr. NTR as actual Indian rebels in the 1920s in a fictional pre-independence tale. Both Komaram Bheem and Alluri Sitarama Raju. The movie also featured Shriya Saran, Alia Bhatt, and Ajay Devgn.
RRR, which was theatrically released in March, made more over 1,200 crore at the box office worldwide. The movie’s Hindi version debuted on Netflix on May 20. SS Rajamouli announced last month that he is growing the RRR brand.
