In Japan, SS Rajamouli’s RRR is still causing mayhem. The historical drama, which debuted in Japan on October 21, has surpassed SS Rajamouli’s own record for Baahubali 2 to become the second-highest-grossing Indian movie there. The Ram Charan and Jr. NTR-starring movie, which opened in 209 theatres and 31 Imax locations across 44 Japanese cities, is on track to make around Rs. 17 crore and is the quickest Indian movie to join the JPY300 million club. RRR’s official Twitter account posted a vibrant image of the audience celebrating the film’s release along with the following message: “‘Gaalloki Paper lu egaresthe Screen Kanpinchakudadu.’ That’s the discussion every fandom has before their fav hero’s film release. But who imagined that it would happen for @tarak9999 @alwaysramcharan s film in Japan? The love our stars are getting for RRR is UNIMAGINABLE!.”
In 34 days, RRR is anticipated to have made JPY305 million, or about 17.9 crore. Muthu, starring Rajinikanth, continues to be the highest-grossing movie in Japan, earning JPY400 million at the box office (Rs 22 crore). The movie had a yearlong run in theatres and on a small number of screens.
SS Rajamouli, Ram Charan, and Jr. NTR were recently in Japan to promote the movie. In RRR, two revolutionaries are depicted as having a deep bond and a fraternity during the pre-Independence era. Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt both appear in the movie in lengthy cameos. RRR has surpassed the $1 billion milestone globally.
