RRR, directed by SS Rajamouli, extended its spectacular journey at the box office in its second week. According to Box Office India, the historical epic action-drama garnered Rs 12-13 crore in Hindi. It’s currently approaching the Rs 150 crore threshold. According to trade expert Taran Adarsh, the film grossed Rs 710 crore globally in its first week. The NT Rama Rao Jr and Ram Charan-starrer grossed Rs 560 crore in India during its first week of release.
Taran Adarsh had tweeted, “#RRR wins hearts and conquers #BO… Packs a supeRRRb total, emerges HIGHEST SCORING #Hindi film in Week 1 [post pandemic]… Mass circuits teRRRific… Fri 20.07 cr, Sat 24 cr, Sun 31.50 cr, Mon 17 cr, Tue 15.02 cr, Wed 13 cr, Thu 12 cr. Total: ₹ 132.59 cr. #India biz.”
He also provided the film’s worldwide and Indian stats in another tweet. “‘RRR’ IS UNSTOPPABLE, UNSHAKEABLE… * #Worldwide* Week 1 Gross BOC: ₹ 710 cr… #India Gross BOC: ₹ 560 cr… Next to #Baahubali2. #RRR #RRRMovie,” he wrote.
Despite these amazing statistics, few are shocked because Rajamouli is also the guy behind the Baahubali franchise, which caused sensations throughout the world and is widely regarded as the first pan-India triumph for a South Indian film.
RRR stars Ram Charan and Jr NTR, two of Telugu cinema’s top actors. Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn, both from Bollywood, make cameo appearances in the film. The cast also includes Shriya Saran, Samuthirakani, Ray Stevenson, Alison Doody, and Olivia Morris. Previously, the film had proven to be greater than even Rajamouli’s Baahubali franchise, as it outperformed Baahubali 2: The Conclusion’s first-day international box office.
