Renault Kiger SUV: Renault on Wednesday unveiled the concept model of its HBC codenamed Sub-Compact SUV. It will be launched in the market under the name Renault Kiger. Kiger will be launched in early 2021. It will be the company’s smallest and cheapest SUV in the Indian market.
It will compete in the market with Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Kia Sonnet, Mahindra XUV300, Ford EcoSport and Nissan’s upcoming Magnite SUV.
Renault has said that Kaigar’s concept model is about 80% final model (to be launched in the market), that is, the final model will be much like the concept model. It will be based on the CMF-A + platform with a Tribar MPV.
Details of Renault Kiger SUV
Kigar Concept has a very sporty look. It has LED DRL above the grille, headlamp under the bumpers, LED dynamic turn indicators, chunky roof rails, sharp windscreen and C-shape LED tail lamps.
Interior and features of Renault Kiger SUV
Renault Kaigar’s interior will be very similar to that of the Tribe. However, there will be some changes in its cabin comparing to the Tribe. Kigar will have new designed AC vents, centre console. It will get a floating touchscreen infotainment system. In Kigar, the switchgear, steering wheel, dual glove box and digital instrument cluster on the centre console will be taken from the Tribar.
Engine options available
The Kigar SUV will come with 1.0-liter naturally aspirated and 1.0-liter turbo petrol engine options. The same engine will also be in Nissan’s upcoming Magnite SUV. There will be manual and CVT gearbox options with a naturally aspirated engine. At the same time, manual or CVT gearbox can be given with turbo engine.
