Reliance JIO introducing flight data packs: Now use Jio Sim at the height of 30 thousand feet in aeroplanes

Reliance Jio, India’s number one telecom service provider, keeps offering new plans day-to-day to woo its customers. The company Reliance Jio have recently introduced five new packs for their postpaid customers. Now, Jio has launched three in-flight packs and users can use these packs in 22 airlines.

Apart from this, Jio has also launched two Wi-Fi calling value packs. Reliance Jio has come up with these in-flight services for Reliance Jio Post Paid Plus users by making a partnership with a subsidiary of Panasonic Avionics Corporation. It is an overwhelming offer for Jio Post Paid Plus user who are travelling abroad. It will be possible for users to stay connected to data and voice calling services in flight.

The speciality of this service is that it is not limited only to people travelling abroad. Once this service is available in Indian airspace, Reliance Jio users will also benefit from it while travelling anywhere in India.

Plans price of Jio in-flight packs
The three in-flight packs offered by Reliance Jio are priced at Rs 499, Rs 699 and Rs 999. At the same time, the validity of these three plans is one day. According to Jio’s website data and SMS service are available to all airlines. At the same time, only select airlines can access the calling service.

Rs 499 in-flight plan
This Jio plan comes with a validity of one day and offers 100 minutes for calling. This plan provides 100 SMS and 250MB of data to use the Internet.
No incoming call facility is available in this plan.

Rs 699 in-flight plan
In this Jio plan, 100 minutes given for calling and also 100 free SMS. This plane provides 500MB of data for internet usage. Incoming calls are not provided in this plan.

999 rupees in-flight plan
The company is providing 100 calling minutes with 100 free SMS just like previous two in-flight plans. This plan offers 1GB of mobile data. Incoming call service is not available in this plan. Which airlines users can avail of these plans, the information given in the International Roaming section of the company’s website ‘jio.com’.

How to use Jio In-Flight Packs?
Jio has provided insights about how users can use the pack. This service can be used when the flight reaches 20,000 feet or above, says JIO.

Following steps are needed to be done to enjoy the services of the in-flight pack:

  • Users will need to turn off aeroplane mode and switch on their phones.
  • The phone will be connected to the AeroMobile network automatically with the network name depending on the handset.
    -In case the phone does not get connected to the AeroMobile network automatically, the user will need to go to the ‘Carrier’ option in the phone settings and have to select AeroMobile manually.
  • Users need to check whether data roaming is on to use data services.
    -After being connected to the AeroMobile network, users will get a welcome text and different relevant information.
  • Finally, Jio users can enjoy the services which include call, text, and internet surfing.

Who will be able to use calls and data on these flights?

The list of airlines for which the Jio in-flight connectivity pack is available includes Aer Lingus, Egypt Air, Cathay Pacific, EVA Air, Lufthansa, TAP Air Portugal Singapore Airlines, and Turkey Airlines. The company offers data and SMS access to their flights. However, in-flight connectivity packs in Air Serbia, Asiana Airlines, Alitalia, Biman Bangladesh Airlines, Emirates, SWISS, Euro wings, Kuwait Airways, Etihad Airways, Malaysia Airlines, Malindo Air, SAS Scandinavian Airlines, Uzbekistan Airways, and Virgin Atlantic Services will be available soon.

New international plan introduced by Reliance JIO

Along with the in-flight connectivity packs, Reliance Jio has introduced the pack of Rs 1102 and Rs 1202. The Rs 1102 pack offers unlimited incoming and outgoing voice calling over Wi-Fi networks. The validity of this pack is 28 days and is valid in 100 countries.

At the same time, if you talk about a pack of 1202 rupees, then this pack is valid in 170 countries. Subscribers of both these packs will have to pay Rs 2 per minute for outgoing local calls. At the same time, the international calling charge in these packs is Rs 100 per minute.
