Rajinikanth turns 71: One of India’s most popular stars with more than 175 films since 1975

On Sunday, Rajinikanth celebrated his 71st birthday. Fans and celebrities alike sent their good wishes to the performer known as ‘Thalaiva’ on social media. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Rajinikanth on his outstanding performance in the film and wished him well.

Sachin Tendulkar sent his best wishes to Rajinikanth on his birthday via Twitter. “Thalaiva @rajinikanth Sir, may your birthday be filled with joy. Always keeping you in my thoughts and prayers for a long and happy life “He tweeted.

Indian actor Rajinikanth has appeared in more than 175 films since 1975, mainly in the Tamil and Telugu languages.

This year’s 67th National Film Awards presented him with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award.

Shivaji Rao Gaekwad, Rajinikanth’s birth name, worked as a bus conductor for three years. Starting out as a villain in Tamil films, he eventually made it to Bollywood, the Hindi-language film industry in Mumbai, where he has starred in numerous films.
