Prior to the second phase of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly elections, Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi has been elected the national president of the Congress. On December 11, the party announced their election. Significantly, Rahul’s election has become indisputable.
In view of the ongoing assembly elections in Gujarat, Rahul Gandhi will take charge of the party on December 16. It is notable that till now his mother Sonia Gandhi is the national president of the party. For the past several years, there has been a demand for making him president from within the party.
