Major telecom companies Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel, Vodafone and Idea Cellular have not been able to stand the various quality standards of service. Telecom Regulator TRAI has fined these companies for this. Sources said that TRAI has taken this step not to end service quality standards during the December quarter. He said that a penalty of around Rs 31 lakh was imposed on Reliance Jio.
This fines have been settled in different cases including access to call centers and customer services. There was no response to the e-mail sent to Reliance Jio about this. At the same time, around 23 lakh rupees have been imposed on Bharti Airtel, the country’s largest telecom company. Idea Cellular has imposed a penalty of Rs 28-29 lakh while the amount of fine imposed on Vodafone is 9 lakh rupees.
Idea Cellular, Vodafone and Bharti Airtel did not respond to emails sent to this effect. Other companies which have been fined include Aircel and BSNL. The penalty imposed by TRAI is linked to different areas of business and service sectors of the companies. TRAI Chairman RS Sharma recently confirmed that telecommunication operators have been financed for the December quarter. However they did not give the details.
