Putin will participate for the fourth time in the presidential election.
Russia’s President Vladimir Putin has said that he will become the candidate for another term in the next presidential election next year.
He said this while delivering a speech at the meeting of the workers of a car factory.
He said, “I will present my candidature for the presidential election of the Russian Federation.”
Putin has ever been in power since 2000 as President and has always been in power as the Prime Minister.
If he wins the elections in March next year, his tenure will increase by 2024.
Russian TV journalist Senia Sobchak has already said that she will stand in these elections, but according to Opinion polls, it seems Putin will win easily.
Russia’s main opposition leader Alexei Nawalni has been banned from participating in the official election as she has been found guilty in a case of cheating. Even though they tell it politically motivated.
Among Russians, Putin’s image is of a hero. He considers them a strong leader who has reinforced military intervention in the Syrian civil war and revived the global image of Russia. People also give credit to Putin for the separation of Crimea from Ukraine.
But his critics accuse that he has promoted corruption and by his step of separating Crimea from a non-legal way, Russia has had to become a victim of criticism in the international world.
