Oscars 2023: Kantara, RRR, and The Kashmir Files nominated
The 95th Academy Awards eligibility list, which includes 301 movies, was released by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences on Monday. Kantara, a film by actor-director Rishab Shetty and produced by Hombale Films, is up for nomination by Oscars 2023 voters.
The movies that have been added are RRR by SS Rajamouli, Gangubai Kathiawadi by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, The Kashmir Files by Vivek Agnihotri, and Kantara by Rishab Shetty. The list also contains the official Oscars 2023 entry for India, Pan Nalin’s Chhello Show (Last Film Show), as well as the Marathi films Me Vasantrao, Tujhya Sathi Kahi Hi, Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, Iravin Nizhal, and Vikrant Rona. Documentaries The Elephant Whisperers by Kartiki Gonsalves and All That Breathes by Shaunak Sen are also on the list.
The list lists movies that may be eligible to compete in a variety of categories for the uninitiated. However, inclusion on the list does not ensure that the films will be included in the final Academy Award nominations, which will be revealed on January 24.

Meanwhile, the well-known RRR song “Naatu Naatu” is the first Indian song to make the Academy Award shortlist. while awaiting the Oscar nominations. The movie is also up for Best Non-English Film and Best Original Song for Naatu Naatu at the Golden Globes.
The Dolly Theatre in Los Angeles will play host to the 95th Academy Awards on March 12, 2023. This year’s Oscars will be hosted by television host Jimmy Kimmel.
