New Delhi, If you get waiting for booking online train ticket, you will still be able to travel in the same train as counter-holders. Regarding this, the Delhi High Court’s order of 2014 has become effective, as the petition against the order has been rejected by the Supreme Court. At this supreme hearing twice the railway lawyers were not present, hence their application was rejected. In 2014, the Delhi High Court had decided that there should be no discrimination between counter ticket and e-ticket holders, for this, the Railways took steps within six months.

Even after the final chart is created, the passengers who have the e-ticket is automatically canceled, but who have taken the waiting ticket from the window. They get an opportunity to travel on an empty berth-seat as there is a cancellation on the counter ticket window, then refunds are available. Advocate Vishal Jha, who took action against this discrimination, told that once he did not get the e-ticket confirmation, he had to travel on the agent’s ticket.

Railways said that we will take steps only after seeing the order. Now, more than 75% of people buy online tickets. The Delhi High Court had suggested in its decision that if the waiting ticket is automatic cancel even after the chart is created, the holder should get the option at the time of e-ticket booking. The court said that there is no such provision that counter ticket should get priority. The court also asked to stop the ticket booking of fake names.
