Farmers are advised to take precautionary measures due to Nivar storm warning. Secretary of Agriculture said that farmers must ensure their crops within 2 days. Nivar Cyclone will cross the coast near Karaikal.
Cuddalore ready to face Nivar Cyclone- District Collector Chandrasekhar Sakamuri
Food and dairy products are in stock, says Cuddalore District Collector. Collector confirmed that Disaster team of 120 people is ready. National Disaster Rescue Team rushed to Cuddalore, Chidambaram. A total of 6 teams rushed in as a precaution.

Nivar storm to intensify into a severe storm tomorrow- Chennai Meteorological Center
It will rain heavily in Tamil Nadu and Puthuvai from tomorrow till the 26th. There is an expectation of heavy rains in delta districts, north coastal districts and northern districts. Nivar moving in a north-westerly direction will cross the border between Mamallapuram and Karaikal. It will cross the border on the afternoon of the 25th.
There is a depression in the southwestern Bay of Bengal in the distance of 520 km. The wind is going to blow at speed 100- 110 kmph when the storm crosses the coast. When the storm crosses the coast it can be sometimes 120 kmph. The wind blows at speed 45-55 km in the northern coastal districts due to the storm. A prediction of heavy rain in Chennai on the 24th and 25th. Nagai, Thiruvarur and Tanjore districts will receive heavy rainfall. Fishermen can not go into the sea until the 25th.

According to Norwegian Meteorological Center Information, there may be chance of moderate rain in Chennai from this evening till tomorrow. There may be heavy rain in Chennai the next day as per Norway report. It will rain heavily on Friday night and Friday the 26th. There is chance of light to moderate rain with occasional showers from the 28th to the 30th .
