Naval passenger plane crashed while landing at Kathmandu airport, army spokesman said – 50 people died.
Kathmandu, A passenger plane crashed today while landing at Kathmandu International Airport in Nepal. This aircraft was from Bangladesh’s US-Bangladeshi Airlines. It is being told that the plane fell into the eastern part of Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) and dropped. News Agency Reuters has told the army spokesman that at least 50 people have died in the Nepal Plane Crash. Earlier, Airport spokesman Premnath Thakur had said that many people are likely to be killed in the accident.
Earlier, TV reports were also saying that at least 20 people died in the accident. The airport has been completely closed. Rescue operations continue. Reuters told the witnesses that the workers engaged in the rescue work have found many deadly dead bodies in the debris of the aircraft. Significantly, there were 67 passengers and 4 crew members in the plane.
There is news of 17 wounded rescues. From the airport administration, it has been told that there were 37 men, 27 women and 2 children in the plane. According to the Kathmandu Post, Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal Director General Sanjeev Gautam said that the balance of the aircraft was worsened while landing on the runway.
He said, “The aircraft was allowed to land from the south side of the runway but the aircraft started landing from the north side. We are still trying to find out the reasons behind the accident. ” Officials have also expressed their apprehensions of a technical problem in the aircraft.
According to Airport spokesman Premnath Thakur, the plane leaned while landing and only then a fire broke out, after which he went to nearby football ground. Significantly, the plane flew to Dhaka and was about to land in Kathmandu at 2:20 pm. After the crash the airport has been closed.
Earlier, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism Suresh Acharya had told that 17 people have been rescued and sent to different hospitals. Nepal Army is also engaged in rescue work.
