Today was a pivotal night for Microsoft. The Surface Laptop Studio, Surface Pro 8 laptop, Surface Duo 2 folding phone, and a slew of accessories were all unveiled at a special hardware-focused event. Microsoft also unveiled the Microsoft Surface Go 3 notebook in addition to these.

The tablet is the successor to the Microsoft Surface Go 2 tablet, released in May of 2020. The Surface Go 3 adds a speedier chipset to the Microsoft 2-in-1, so you’ll be able to get more done with it.

Price and availability

The Microsoft Surface Go 3 Wi-Fi edition will be available for pre-order in select areas starting today. It starts at $399.99 (about $29,534). According to Microsoft, the Surface Go 3 with LTE will be available for purchase in the coming months.

Specifications and characteristics

The Microsoft Surface Go 3 comes with a 10.5-inch PixelSense touchscreen display as standard. The Surface Go 3 is powered by an Intel Core i3 CPU from the 10th generation, which the company claims boosts performance by over 60%. This processor can be ordered with 4GB or 8GB of RAM. Users can choose from 64GB eMMC, 128GB SSD, or 256GB SSD storage options for storage. On the battery aspect, the Surface Go 3 has a battery life of up to 11 hours.

It has a front-facing webcam with a 1080p resolution and Dolby Audio for superior audio quality. It runs the future Windows 11 operating system on the software side. “This product features optional LTE Advanced3, an all-day battery, and is tailored for tablet-to-laptop mobility with digital Pen and touch,” according to Microsoft.

Microsoft also revealed the Surface Slim Pen 2, which works with various devices, including the Surface Go three tablet, the Surface Pro 8 laptop, and the Surface Laptop Studio laptop. The Microsoft Surface Slim Pen 2 is now available for pre-order in select markets for $129.99 ($9,597).
