New Delhi, The Government has appointed Managing Director and CEO of IDBI Bank Mahesh Kumar Jain as the Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of India. The Finance Ministry has tweeted this decision. Financial Services Department Secretary Rajiv Kumar tweeted that Mahesh Kumar Jain has been appointed as the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank for three years.


Jain, who has more than 30 years of experience in banking, became MD of IDBI Bank in March 2017. Let the RBI already have three deputy governors, Jain will be the fourth. At present, along with Governor Urjit Patel, BP Kanugas, Vareal V. Acharya and NS Vishwanathan are serving as deputies.

Mahesh Kumar Jain has also been present on the Board of Exim Bank, NIBM and IBPS. Not only this, he has also played a key role in many committees of the banking sector.
