Love the natural essence? Add it to your perfume!

Beauty Fashion Lifestyle Others

Everyone loves to smell good. You obviously wouldn’t talk to a person who smells bad, would you? I love perfumes, like a lot. So this quarantine period has made me really very productive and I’m saving a lot of bucks. I’m pretty sure you want to do it too.

Perfumes are something I spend a lot on. We can agree on this, good quality perfumes are really expensive. There are so many brands that offer natural essence without chemicals and they are very pricey. So I thought to myself, why not try making a perfume? That too with natural ingredients. Yes, I’m talking about flowers.

Floral scented perfumes have my entire heart. The ones that are not too strong but not too mild. They’re rarely available. So I’m going to share with you how I made my very own perfume at home itself. Regardless to say, I love it.

• All you need is :

1) 1 1/2 cups chopped flowers (you can use rose or jasmine, it’s up to you)

2) Medium-sized bowl with a lid

3) 2.5 cups of distilled water

4) A small saucepan

5) Cheesecloth or a muslin cloth

6) 1 clean sterilized dark glass bottle with an airtight lid

• Method:

1) Start by gently washing your flower petals, removing any dirt with water.

2) Soak the flowers overnight in a cheesecloth-lined bowl and cover it with a lid.

3)Squeeze the pouch of flowers over a saucepan, extract the flower-scented water and simmer over low heat until you are left with about a teaspoon of the liquid.

4)Pour cold water into this liquid and bottle it up. Leave it to sit overnight and you’re done. You can apply it the way you want, using a spray bottle or anything.
