Liger trailer just dropped today!
Liger, a forthcoming sports drama starring Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday, just debuted its teaser. Because he is a hybrid of a lion and a tiger, Vijay portrays an MMA fighter with the ring moniker “Liger.” Along the process, it is revealed that he also struggles with speech, and he uses the ring to vent his emotions.
The trailer features a lot of screaming, hitting, and ranting as well as Ananya Panday looking glam without really revealing what she brings to the narrative. In other words, this seems like a bit of an assault on the senses. Vijay appears to have channelled his Arjun Reddy avatar (yet again) for the movie, and everyone else has done the same based on the constant yelling.
The video also shows Ramya Krishnan as Liger’s witty mother, who cheers him on from the sidelines, and it concludes with a brief shot of a cackling Mike Tyson, who enters dressed as a rodeo cowboy and seems to be playing some sort of antagonist.
Vijay Deverakonda talked about how worn out he was after watching the movie earlier this month. In a social media post, he stated, “A film that took my everything. As a performance, mentally, physically my most challenging role. I give you everything! Coming soon. #Liger.”
The term “Saala crossbreed” is prominently displayed on a billboard that he also posted. While Ananya Panday made her cinematic debut in 2019 with Student of the Year 2, Vijay rose to stardom with his Telugu movies Arjun Reddy, Geetha Govindam, and Dear Comrade. Ananya Panday has also appeared in the movies Khali Peeli, Gehraiyaan, and Pati, Patni Aur Woh.
Liger is a Hindi and Telugu movie that was concurrently shot by Puri Jagannadh and Karan Johar. It is being hailed as Vijay’s Bollywood debut as well as a pan-Indian film. On August 25 of this year, the movie, which also has Ronit Roy and Makarand Deshpande in supporting parts, is scheduled for release.
