Kolkata Bank Fraud: It is also a warning to you that ATM Fraud.

Kolkata, Three ATMs, 76 victims and more than 20 lakh rupees (counting is ongoing) disappeared. All this happened in just five days. When the customers of South Kolkata’s bank customers woke up their sleep, they came to know that they have become victims of one of the biggest ATM frauds in the country. The account holders of Canara Bank, Punjab National Bank and Kotak Mahindra Bank allegedly received messages that money has been withdrawn from their accounts and it has happened from different cities. According to reports, the number of victims of fraud can increase.

Upon this news on Tuesday, there was a ruckus in the whole city. People ran towards banks to know if their money is safe or not. The scam that started from Gariahah area now spread to Sarovar, Park Street, Kasba, Behala, Tiljala and Baniampukur, and new areas are being detected every day.




According to preliminary reports, the gang of five people had worked hard for the last four months to execute this fraud. It is being said that this gang installed Schemes in Bank ATMs between April and July and withdrew the money last week. Keep in mind that bank cards are copied through Schemes.

The account holders have complained about some cases of withdrawal of money from Delhi’s Palika Bazar, Kalkaji, Hauz Khas, Jharkhand and Haryana from Delhi, thousands of kilometers away from Kolkata. In the case of fake money, 10 of the bankers and one government bank, including the AGM, have lost their earnings.

An account holder told, “We were having dinner with the family, only then a message came out of his wife’s account to get 20 thousand rupees. He could think of where the money came from, again a message came out of 20 thousand rupees.

However, banks have assured the account holders that money will be deposited in the accounts of the customers within seven to 10 days on the basis of the copy of FIR received after the complaint made to the police. Here, the Kolkata Police has constituted a Special Investigation Team and the footage is being collected from the CCTV in the ATMs. Some people are wearing a mask in the footage so far revealed.
