Going to Kedarnath is a dream for many people. Many people also fulfil it, so for some, it remains a mere dream. If you are thinking of visiting Kedarnath, Badrinath or Auli-Munsiyari, these days a white sheet of snow is lying here. Actually, the weather in the hill areas of Uttarakhand had been bad for the last two days. For two days, along with Badrinath Dham, several other high peaks received heavy snowfall. Due to this reason, the cold has increased again.

At the same time, the DM of Rudraprayag, who went on a two-day tour about the weather, told that there are about four inches of snow accumulated in Kedarnath. At the same time, seven inches of fresh snow is frozen in Badrinath and four inches in Auli. While about one foot of snow is frozen in Hemkund Sahib. There is already four feet of snow here. At the same time, due to the effect of western disturbance, the weather patterns in different districts of the state including the capital, Doon, will remain impaired for the next four days.

Meteorologists about the weather of Kedarnath

According to meteorologists about the weather, there is a possibility of rain with hailstorm in many districts of the state. Especially in the high altitude areas, including Dehradun, Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Tehri, Pauri, Champawat, Nainital, Pithoragarh for the next four days. Meteorologists have expressed the possibility that celestial lightning may also fall in many areas with hail. Due to the effect of the western disturbance, there was light cloudy in the capital Doon and surrounding areas on Monday.

Rainfall and snowfall continued in the mountainous areas from Sunday night to Monday morning. Due to which other high altitude areas including Badrinath Dham, Hemkund Sahib, Valley of Flowers, Auli, Chinap Valley, Kuwari Pass, Gorso, Joshimath’s Peak were covered with snow.


Along with Badrinath, there was a light snowfall in the high altitude areas including Kedarnath, Second Kedar Madmaheshwar and Third Kedar Tungnath. There was light rain in the valley areas including Rudraprayag district headquarters. Kedarnath Dham received intermittent snowfall for two hours a day.
