Johnny Depp performs with Jeff Beck in Finland
As he entered the stage with Jeff Beck at the Helsinki Blues Festival on Sunday in Finland, Johnny Depp was claimed to have “moved on” from his defamation trial against ex-wife Amber Heard. After a heated six-week libel trial, Depp was awarded more than $10 million in damages.
“The trial was necessary,” a source told PEOPLE, “but he is relieved that it is finished. Although he is relieved about the jury’s verdict, he isn’t gloating about it.” The source added, “He isn’t even talking about the trial now. He filed the lawsuit because he considered it necessary. He has moved on though. He is now able to get back to what he loves doing. He enjoys performing and has a busy summer ahead. He is also looking forward to continuing working. He just wants his career back. He loves filming.”
Meanwhile, Amber Heard was seen shopping at a discount store in New York’s Hamptons, despite her lawyers’ claims that she was unable to pay the damages given to Johnny Depp by the court. In photographs acquired by TMZ, her sister Whitney Heard was also present with her on the shopping excursion to TJ Maxx.
Her sister had a cart and the actress wore a white shirt and denims. It was unclear whether they made any purchases. This comes after Heard gave Savannah Guthrie some public interviews in which she defended her charges against ex-husband Depp. Heard’s lawyer recently stated that she “definitely” could not afford to repay Depp the money owing to her. Following the release of the TJ Maxx pictures, social media users were polarized.
