Just before the Amarnath Yatra, there was a major terror attack in Anantnag district of South Kashmir. The militants targeted a patrol team of the Central Reserve Police Force (CPRF) on a crowded road here on Wednesday. Five CRPF soldiers have died in the attack. Earlier, two injured jawans were undergoing treatment in the hospital but they could not be saved. One Inspector of Jammu and Kashmir Police is also injured in the attack.
SHO injured in Anantnag, shift in Srinagar
Officials said that at least two terrorists threw indiscriminate firing from automatic rifles on CRPF convoy on KP road and threw grenades. The encounter continued for a long time. A militant has also been killed in an encounter with security forces. SHO Arshad Ahmad of Anantnag police station has also been injured in the attack. They have been shifted to Srinagar for treatment.
According to TV reports, an organization called Al-Omar Mujahideen took responsibility for the attack. The terrorist organization has said that Mushtaq Jarar is his gangster. It is being said that during Balakot Air strikes, he was also targeted. Let us tell you that Mushtaq Zarar is the same person who was released by the Indian Government in 1999 instead of abandoning the hijacked passengers of the aircraft IC-814. Masood Azhar and Sheikh Omar were also left with him.
