The country is celebrating the 36th death anniversary of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to him on the occasion. Indira Gandhi was sent to jail in September 1942. In 1947, she worked in the riot-affected areas of Delhi under the guidance of Mahatma Gandhi. Indira chose Feroze Gandhi as a life partner on 26 March 1942. Indira Gandhi had two sons, Rajiv Gandhi and Sanjay Gandhi.
