IND vs SL: Rohit Sharma did this promise of ODI cricket but did it.
Mohali: Team India captain Rohit Sharma made a double century on Wednesday at Mohali’s IS Bindra stadium after a big bang against Sri Lanka. Rohit, who was leading the team in the absence of Virat Kohli, scored an unbeaten 208. This is his third double century in ODI cricket. Apart from Rohit in ODIs, three batsmen have not even scored two double centuries in any of the batsmen. Rohit had expressed his intention to do a one-day cricket during a discussion some time ago, which no one has ever done. It is a different matter that Rohit’s exploits did not mean that it was a double century in ODIs.
It was only Rohit’s innings that team India easily won the second one-day match and finished the three-match series 1-1. The third and final ODI of the series is to be played on December 17. The winning team will take possession of the series in this match. Rohit, known as ‘Hitman’, faced 153 balls during his unbeaten 208 innings and hit 13 fours and 12 sixes and his strike rate of 135.95. Rohit had expressed his desire to make a triple hundred in ODI International during the show “Breakfast with Champions” some time ago.
During the discussion with Gaurav Kapoor, he had said that playing 300 innings in ODIs is not easy, but I will try very well for this. Rohit said that whenever I go for batting, people want me to score 300 runs. When I am around the boundaries or at the airport during fielding, people ask me if I am making 300 runs. It shows that India does not expect to do better than you in a country. I will do my best for this.
