Harnaaz Sandhu, who won the Miss Universe 2021 title, says she wants to create an environment where women can feel comfortable expressing their concerns about health and hygiene.
During an interview, Sandhu said, I am very grateful, and my heart is filled with respect for all those who showed faith in me and showered me with lots of love. Now I will use this forum to discuss issues that we should all be concerned about.
Sandhu said I advocate women empowerment with menstrual hygiene and breast cancer awareness. Women still feel uncomfortable talking about anything related to their health. Whereas they should speak openly about health.
I am working with various organizations regarding breast cancer surgery. It can be treated if detected on time. She said I would also talk about all the issues related to the Miss Universe organization. My mother is a gynaecologist and my inspiration. With their help, I will raise various issues for women.
Desire to work in Bollywood and Hollywood
Harnaaz Sandhu has worked in a few Punjabi films, including Yaara Diya Pu Baran, and Bai Ji Kuttange. She wants to make a mark in Hindi films and Hollywood. Both these films of Sandhu were released in 2021.
Significantly, on Monday, Sandhu became the third Indian to win the Miss Universe title. Before her, actress Sushmita Sen in 1994 and Lara Dutta in 2000 had this crown on her head. Sandhu got this title in the 70th beauty pageant held in Eilat, Israel. According to Sandhu, it is a big celebration for the whole country as an Indian has got a chance to wear this crown after 21 years.
