The two new Indian Premier League (IPL) teams announced their three draft picks ahead of the major auction on Friday, with Hardik Pandya captaining the Ahmedabad franchise and KL Rahul captaining the Lucknow team. Vikram Solanki, the franchise’s director of cricket, claimed that Hardik and Rashid Khan were each signed for a fee of 15 crores, while Gill was signed for a fee of 8 crores.

The RPSG group’s Lucknow franchise paid Rs 17 crore for Rahul, Rs 9.2 crore for Australia all-rounder Marcus Stoinis, and Rs 4 crore for uncapped leg spinner Ravi Bishnoi. They’ll assemble the remainder of their team during the Bengaluru mega auction on February 12 and 13.

Hardik and Rashid will be playing in the same IPL team for the first time. The all-rounder previously played for the Mumbai Indians, who won the IPL five times, and the Sunrisers Hyderabad represented Afghanistan.

Hardik Pandya did not bowl a single over last season, and his batting numbers have plummeted, which was the key reason for Mumbai’s decision not to keep him for the tournament’s 15th season. Because of his fitness issues, India’s management is considering other choices for the upcoming World Cups, with Hardik attempting to recuperate from a long-term back problem.

Following the retition announcement last month, one of the main discussion points was the Sunrisers’ decision not to keep Rashid. He signed with SRH for INR 4 crores in 2017 and was re-signed for INR 9 crores for the 2018 season. He appeared in 76 games for the team, taking 93 wickets at a 6.33 economy rate.
