Technology giant Google launched a new app called “Bolo” on Wednesday. Through this app, the primary school children will be able to learn Hindi and English. This free app launches in India works on Google Speech Recognition and Text-to-Speech Technology.
The company said that there is an animated character named Dia, which encourages children to read stories and helps the children when it comes to pronouncing a word. Not only this, but it also increases the moral of the children on completing this story.
Google India Product Manager Nitin Kashyap said, “We have designed this app in such a way that it can work offline too. For this, just have to install 50MB of this app. There are about 100 stories in Hindi and English.
They told that the app is available free on the Google Play Store. It can run on all devices with Android 4.4 (KitKat) and above. Kashyap said that Google has also tested this app in about 200 villages of Uttar Pradesh, whose results are good. He said that soon it is being considered to include other Indian languages like Bengali in the app.
