Flipkart launches a hotel booking feature with affordable travel options
To expand its business into the hospitality industry, Flipkart has introduced its own hotel booking feature. Before the festive season and holidays, the Indian e-commerce platform added Flipkart Hotels to its platform to provide more travel deals.
The 3 lakh domestic and international hotels will be available for booking through Flipkart’s new hotel booking feature. Notably, the business acquired online travel agency Cleartrip in order to diversify into digital commerce. Now that the feature is supported by Cleartrip’s API, more affordable travel options are available. The Flipkart Hotels will offer extra perks like flexible travel, policies regarding bookings, and simple EMI options, making the travel experience affordable.
“With the support of Cleartrip’s API, Flipkart Hotels will gain access to Cleartrip’s comprehensive knowledge of the travel industry and its clients. This new offering, which is accessible through the Flipkart app, offers a hassle-free booking process and prompt communication via well-liked messaging services, according to the company.
In order to assist customers with user-related questions during the hotel booking service, Flipkart has also established a dedicated customer care service. Additionally, it is enabling users to access offers from third parties on the platform.
The hospitality sector has had a great year so far in 2022 thanks to a noticeable increase in demand for hotels in the domestic and international markets. Workstations, extended stays, and vacation rentals are some of the new travel trends that are starting to catch on, the company added.
Flipkart is getting ready to launch its biggest holiday sale, the Big Billion Days Sale, which will likely start at the end of this month. Huge savings on top-selling smartphones from brands like Realme, Poco, Vivo, Apple, and Samsung as well as electronics, accessories, TVs, and appliances will be available during the sale. Additionally, Flipkart has partnered with ICICI and Axis bank to provide additional discounts of up to 10%.
