Earthquake News: 5.2 magnitude earthquake hits UP’s Lucknow

In the early hours of Saturday, an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.2 struck the northeastern part of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. The earthquake, which was 82 km deep, occurred at 1.12 am on Saturday, according to the National Center for Seismology. So far, no casualties have been reported.

National Center for Seismology tweeted, “Earthquake of Magnitude:5.2, Occurred on 20-08-2022, 01:12:47 IST, Lat: 28.07 & Long: 81.25, Depth: 82 Km, Location: 139km NNE of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.”

On Friday, the Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh was shaken by an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.1, according to the state’s disaster management agency. The tremor was in the moderate range, and there were no immediate reports of any injuries or property damage.

According to the department, the quake’s epicentre was in the Kinnaur district at a depth of 5 km, and tremors started to be felt there and nearby at 12:02 pm.
