How the earth originated, is still a mystery. It is claimed that millions of years ago dinosaurs ruled the earth. They were so huge that when they walked, the earth shook. It is feared that a large meteorite or asteroid may have collided with the Earth, due to which they were destroyed. Now, on the contrary, an Australian scientist has made a strange claim about dinosaurs.
9 million-year-old fossil
According to scientists, dinosaur fossils were found near a sheep station on the outskirts of Queensland (Australia). This species is also known as a dinosaur killer. According to estimates, this fossil is more than 95 million years old (90 million years). Surprisingly, the remains of an ornithopod dinosaur have been found in the stomach of a crocodile.
6 years spent assembling the pieces
Matt White of The Australian Age of Dinosaur Museum called the discovery extraordinary. According to Dr Matt, for the first time, such a fossil of a crocodile has been discovered, in whose stomach the remains of a dinosaur have been found. This is the first case of its own in the world. He told that the fossil was discovered only in 2010, but it took more than 6 years to add its pieces.
Ornithopods used to eat small plants
According to Dr Matt, till now there were things heard about dinosaur killer crocodile, but now this thing is being confirmed by getting the remains of a dinosaur in the stomach part of the fossil. It is estimated that the last food of this rare crocodile was dinosaurs. He further said that ornithopod dinosaurs ate small plants instead of meat. Who had a beak and cheeks full of teeth? It is estimated that they roamed the earth more than 100 million years ago.
According to scientists, ornithopods were very cute little dinosaurs. Some believe that he was large, while some describe him as around the size of a chicken. Now from the study of fossils, it seems that when the ornithopod was roaming along the river, the crocodile preyed on it at the same time. After this, the crocodile died due to some reason and the remains of the dinosaur remained in its fossil.
3D model getting ready
According to the researchers, the crocodile’s bones were too fragile, due to which it could not be removed from the ground by traditional methods. In such a situation, new technology of X-ray pictures was used for research. The scanned data files were used by Dr White to prepare the sample digitally, to create a 3D layout of the bones.
