The 38-year-old actor became well-known throughout India after his song “Kolaveri Di” went viral online in 2011. The song’s success helped Dhanush get recognition for his efforts. Dhanush made his Bollywood debut in 2013 alongside Sonam Kapoor in Anand L. Rai’s “Raanjhana.” He was viewed as the main character in this uplifting love story that took place in a tiny village. However, after the movie’s release, Dhanush’s portrayal of the character received overwhelmingly positive reviews from critics.

After a two-year hiatus, Dhanush reunited with Amitabh Bachchan and Akshara Haasan in R. Balki’s “Shamitabh.” Dhanush was portrayed in the film as a mute man who enjoyed acting and watching movies. After Bachchan offers him his voice, he becomes famous. Although the movie bombed at the box office, reviewers praised the creative idea and Dhanush’s performance.
