Deepika Padukone EXPLAINS why she turned down Salman Khan’s offer to work with him

Deepika Padukone is one of the Bollywood actresses who has strived to create a particular space in people’s hearts by portraying various personalities. She made her debut in Himesh Reshammiya’s song video ‘Naam Hai Tera’ in 2005. Following this music video, she made her Bollywood debut in the 2007 film ‘Om Shanti Om,’ starring Shah Rukh Khan. But did you know that Salman Khan made Deepika Padukone his first offer in Bollywood, which she turned down? He has now made this information public.

“We’ve always had this beautiful relationship and I’ll always be grateful to him because he was of the first people to offer me a film. It was just a tragedy that I was not ready for it. I had just started modelling and somebody I had worked with mentioned my work to him or he saw it and was not ready for films. I didn’t want to be an actor and then literally two years later, Om Shanti Om happened. He saw potential in me when even I did not know I had it,” Deepika told.

Salman has said in 2020 why he and Deepika had never collaborated on a film. He had stated that there was never a chance because no one had offered to cast him beside her. Deepika wants to work with Salman Khan at some point in the future. Fans are ecstatic to watch Deepika and Salman in a project together. However, this has not yet occurred.

Deepika, who was most recently seen in Shakun Batra’s Gehraiyaan, has some upcoming projects, including Fighter with Hrithik Roshan, Pathan with Shah Rukh Khan and John Abhrama, Project-K with Prabhas, and a few others. Salman is presently filming Tiger 3 alongside Katrina Kaif.
