‘Dasvi,’ starring Abhishek Bachchan, has been getting tons of hype since its announcement, and the official trailer demonstrates why it is one of the most interesting films of the year.
In the teaser, Abhishek is having a good time in his raw and rustic Jaat avatar. In the portrayal of an IPS officer, Yami Gautam is powerful and penetrating, while Nimrat Kaur is a nice surprise as the feisty wife with a taste for her husband’s favourite kursi (chief minister).
The storyline appears to take an unexpected turn when Abhishek Bachchan is prompted by an IPS officer who refers to him as an “anpadh gawaar (uneducated),” motivating him to decide to pursue his studies while in jail and qualify for class 10 or ‘Dasvi.’
Dasvi is directed by Tushar Jalota and written by Ritesh Shah, Suresh Nair, and Sandeep Leyzell. Kumar Vishwas, a poet and former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader, consulted on scripts and dialogues.
Amitabh Bachchan is praising the teaser for Abhishek Bachchan’s forthcoming project, Dasvi. The teaser, which was published on Wednesday, introduces Abhishek as a proud, convicted Chief Minister who intends to study for class 10 while inside.
Tushar Jalota makes his directorial debut with Dasvi, which is produced by the same people that brought you Hindi Medium, Stree, and Mimi. Ritesh Shah wrote the script, while Dinesh Vijan produced it under his Maddock Films label in cooperation with Jio Studios. It will be available for viewing on Netflix and JioCinema starting on April 7th.
Abhishek was recently seen in Bob Biswas, directed by Diya Annapurna Ghosh. In the spin-off to the 2012 thriller Kahaani, he plays the titular assassin. Aside from Dasvi, he is also working on SSS-7.
