According to the World Health Organization, the new variant of the coronavirus is becoming more dangerous, Omicron. In the last week in the world, an increase of 11 percent in coronavirus cases has been registered due to this new variant. The WHO warned on Wednesday that the danger posed by Omicron variants is still too high. The number of corona cases has increased very rapidly in many countries worldwide. WHO said in its weekly press conference, “Continuing evidence suggests that the Omicron variant is spreading more rapidly than the delta variant and is doubling in just two to three days”. Due to this speed, there has been a rapid increase in corona cases in many countries worldwide.

However, giving relief news, the global agency said that there has been a 29 percent decline in corona cases in South Africa. The Omicron variant was first reported in South Africa on 24 November. It said that preliminary data from Britain, South Africa, and Denmark suggest that the risk of Omicron infection is lower than in Delta.
