Scientists in China have achieved great success in cloning techniques. With the help of the technique that was made cloned with Dolly’s name 20 years ago, two clone monkeys have been prepared by Chinese scientists. The name of these two monkeys, with long tail, is called hua hua, Chong Chong. He was born in Shanghai-based Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) Institute of Neuroscience. This is the result of years of research in the cloning technique called Samatic Cell Nuclear Transfer. Mumming Fu, director of the Institute of Neuroscience of CAS Center for Excellence in Brain Science and Intelligence Technology, said, “The barriers have ended with this work.”
So far this technique was used to create clones of over 20 animal species including dogs, pigs and cats. But this technique proved difficult for animals similar to humans. The question of the birth of these monkeys has also raised the fact that the scientists have now come close to how to prepare a human clone.
Fu said that one day this technique can be used to prepare large number of monkeys with similar genes, which can be very helpful in medical research. He said that now there will be no need to catch animals from forests. According to Fu, in the United States every year 30,000 to 40,000 monkeys are imported by pharmaceutical companies.
Tell you that monkeys are usually used in medical research for diseases of the brain such as Parkinson’s, cancer, resistance and metabolic disorders. This will now be very helpful in the field of medical research.
