Beirut explosion: Photo of this nurse with the newborn babies she saved is the cutest thing on internet today

Amidst the unfortunate incidents that are going around lately, here’s something for you to look at smile. This is a symbol of resilience.

There were many devastating videos and photos of the Beirut blast that were shared widely on social media platforms. Amongst all those saddening pictures, there was one picture of a nurse standing tall amid all chaos cradling three newborn babies that she protected during the blast.

The photos were captured in a hospital in Ashrafia area that went viral. The photo of this nurse was captured by Lebanese photojournalist Bilal Jawich near the epicentre of the blast, the photo showed a nurse embracing three newborn babies in her arms, while trying to contact someone on the landline, as shattered glass and blood can be seen around.

The photojournalist took to his social media and posted the picture of the nurse. He captioned it with, “16 years of press photography and lots of wars. I can say I didn’t see what I saw today in Ashrafia area, especially in front of the Al Roum Hospital”.

Many people were moved by this poignant moment and they hailed the unidentified nurse as a hero. “Not all angels have wings”, this phrase has proven to be true today.

As per reports, over 4000 people were wounded and there were more than a hundred of casualties during the cataclysmic blasts in Downtown Beirut on the 4th of August 2020, Tuesday.

Amid the novel coronavirus pandemic, with the blast crippling the hospital building, doctors, nurses and other healthcare workers in the country have emerged as heroes amid the crisis.
